Subclasses and Certification in High Five
A subclass is another profession within the same character, with its own level and skills. Switching to it does not add its regular skills to your main class. Certifications are the system that grants selected main-class benefits for developing those subclasses.
- Add a subclass
- Level 75; earlier subclasses must be 75+
- Maximum
- Three subclasses
- In Syndicate
- Start at 40 and can reach 85
- Certificates
- Levels 65, 70, 75 and 80
Adding and switching subclasses
- Syndicate disables the quest requirements for adding subclasses: you do not need to complete Fate's Whisper or Mimir's Elixir. Level and compatibility requirements remain active.
- You must be level 75 and develop earlier subclasses to at least 75 before opening the next. The limit is three, in addition to your main profession.
- Kat the Cat manages compatible subclasses. Regular masters retain their race and profession-type restrictions.
- Check the NPC’s available options before choosing: not every class permits every combination. Elf and Dark Elf have restrictions between their families, and closely related branches can also exclude one another.
- Kamael retain their own system: their subclasses are Kamael. Inspector is offered after developing the first two subclasses and evolves into Judicator at 76.
Certification: the reward at each milestone
- 65 and 70: Certificate - Emergent Ability, for common certification skills.
- 75: choose a Certificate - Master Ability or the certificate of your subclass family: Warrior, Knight, Rogue, Wizard, Healer, Summoner or Enchanter. This is a choice for that milestone, not two certificates at once.
- 80: the matching family's Transformation Sealbook, for its Divine transformation.
- Request the certificate with the subclass active at the required level, from a master who can teach it. Then return to the main class and visit Avant-Garde in Ivory Tower to learn the compatible skill.
- Hardin's More Than Meets the Eye quest unlocks transformation learning. Adding a subclass without quests does not mean all transformations are unlocked.
Choosing certificates and avoiding mistakes
- Example: to obtain a Knight-family certification, develop a subclass belonging to that family and choose its class certificate at 75. Having a tank in your party does not certify your character.
- There is no universal combination: check which passives or triggers benefit your attacks, survival or MP before investing time in a subclass.
- Canceling certifications at Avant-Garde costs 10,000,000 Adena in Syndicate. Read the dialogue: it affects certification skills and certificates; it is not a free swap of one option.
- Olympiad uses the main class. A high-level subclass does not replace your main profession for registration.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Baium or subclass quests in Syndicate?
Not to add subclasses: the server bypasses Fate's Whisper and Mimir's Elixir. You must still meet level, limit and class compatibility requirements.
Are subclasses capped at level 80?
In Syndicate they can reach 85. This is a server adjustment; it does not change certification milestones at 65, 70, 75 and 80.
Do I learn certification skills with my subclass active?
Obtain certificates with the subclass active, then learn their corresponding benefits on the main class through Avant-Garde.
