Class Transfers in High Five: levels 20, 40 and 76
Gaining a level and changing profession are separate steps. Your level unlocks the next transfer, but you must choose a valid class from your tree. High Five retains the original quests; L2 Syndicate adds free transfers so you can focus on playing and developing your party.

The three profession milestones
- Level 20: choose the first specialization of your starting class. Human Fighter can continue as Warrior, Knight or Rogue, for example.
- Level 40: choose a second profession within that branch. Human Knight leads to Paladin or Dark Avenger; it does not allow a jump to Bishop.
- Level 76: obtain your third profession. Paladin becomes Phoenix Knight and Dark Avenger becomes Hell Knight. Your second profession already determines this final destination.
- Some quests can begin before the level required for a transfer. That does not mean you obtain the profession before 20, 40 or 76.
The original High Five path
Original transfers involve the masters of your race and profession and their corresponding quests. Second professions have their branch's trials, and third professions have their sagas. Kamael have their own paths and gender restrictions in certain branches.
This guide distinguishes those quests from Syndicate's free service. If you want to experience the original journey, follow the quest journal and the corresponding master; the requirements and items of one profession are not interchangeable with another's.
L2 Syndicate's free shortcut
- The server offers a class transfer popup when you reach the relevant milestone. Its Free option requires no Adena or items.
- You can also speak with Kat the Cat, the Class Changer, in the starting villages or Giran and Aden. Its menu offers only the compatible next step from your current class.
- The service cannot be used in incompatible states, such as while transformed or casting a skill. Return to a normal state and speak with the NPC again.
- Example: a level 40 Human Fighter who has not completed the first transfer must choose Knight first, then Paladin or Dark Avenger. Reaching 40 does not remove the earlier step.
- Normal automatic skill learning is enabled in Syndicate. Item requirements still apply, and Forgotten Scroll skills are not granted automatically. Check the skill window after your transfer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay for class transfers in Syndicate?
No. The popup offers a free option, and Kat the Cat provides the next transfer in your tree without charging Adena or requiring the original quest items.
Can Kat the Cat change my race or class branch?
No. The service validates the next profession of your current class. It cannot turn a Knight into a Cleric or a Human class into an Elf class.
Are Forgotten Scroll skills learned automatically on level-up?
No. Syndicate enables normal automatic skill learning, but Forgotten Scroll skills retain their separate learning method.
