Equipment Enchant in High Five: scrolls and risk
A +N enchant improves a compatible item using a scroll. Before using it, check the item type, grade and failure result. In L2 Syndicate, the standard and Blessed scrolls covered here share the +16 limit and the base chance beyond the safe range; their failure protection differs.
- Safe range
- Through +3
- One full-body piece
- Through +4
- Base chance
- 66% beyond the safe range
- Normal / Blessed
- +16 limit
Match the scroll and item
- Use a weapon or armor scroll of the correct grade and select the exact item in the enchant window. Jewelry uses a compatible armor scroll.
- Grade is part of the requirement: an A-grade scroll does not work on any high-level item. Also check whether the item supports enchant and has reached its limit.
- Special items or scrolls can follow different rules. This guide covers ordinary standard and Blessed scrolls; it does not promise +16 or identical protection for every item.
What safe +3 and full-body +4 mean
Steps taking an item from +0 through +3 are safe with these scrolls. A single full-body piece occupying chest and legs is safe through +4. Wearing a complete set does not make each piece full-body.
Example: a +3 weapon risks failure on the next attempt to +4. A +3 full-body piece is still safe when raised to +4, but its following attempt to +5 carries risk.
What failure does
Blessed protects the item, not its enchant level. The attempt consumes the scroll on success or failure; crystal compensation from standard failure depends on the item’s properties.
| Scroll | Item | Enchant after failure |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Destroyed; may return crystals | The item is lost |
| Blessed | Preserved | Resets to +0 |
Syndicate chance and limit
- The base configuration for these scrolls is 66% per attempt beyond the safe range for physical weapons, magic weapons and armor. A +16 item cannot take another step with those scrolls.
- Compatible enchant support items or a special scroll may change the chance or conditions. The base probability does not guarantee completing a chain of attempts.
- Budget scrolls separately from SA, augmentation and attribute upgrades. Decide how much to consume before starting and keep replacement equipment if you need to continue playing after failure.
Frequently asked questions
Is a complete set safe to +4?
No. Safe +4 applies to one full-body piece covering chest and legs, not to every piece of an equipped set.
Does Blessed preserve the enchant on failure?
Not in this equipment system: it preserves the item and resets its enchant to +0. Safe skill enchant is a separate system using different books.
Does 66% mean two successes in every three attempts?
No. Each attempt has its own roll. The 66% base chance guarantees neither a particular short sequence nor a +16 item.
